East Sanford CDBG-I

About

Addressing the critical need to upgrade the sewer system in our city, we are excited to launch the ambitious project, 'East Sanford CDBG-I'. This infrastructure improvement initiative focuses on improving the lives of those from low to moderately low income areas of East Sanford. The project aims to promote fair access to high-quality community services, and we believe that your voices and inputs will play a crucial role in shaping our city's future.

The vitality of our community relies heavily on its infrastructure, and the East Sanford CDBG-I project is our proactive response to this need. Through this project, we will strengthen our commitment to ensuring a healthy, clean, and sustainable environment for all our residents. Understanding that resident participation and input are vital to this objective, we value and anticipate your substantial contributions which will help guide our decision-making process.

This project will upgrade the several sewer pipes with cured-in-place liners, and line several manholes in East Sanford. Cured-in-place pipe lining is like giving old pipes a makeover. Instead of replacing the entire pipe, a flexible liner is inserted, coated with resin and cured (hardened) in place. This creates a new, durable inner pipe that fixes leaks, improves the overall condition without the need for extensive excavation, and extends the life of the pipe by over 50 years. It’s a time-saving, less invasive way to make repairs to the sewer system.

Grant Funding: CDBG-I administered by NCDEQ's Division of Water Infrastructure

Estimated Construction Cost: $1,407,261.45
