Sidewalk Improvements

The City of Sanford plans to improve multimodal connectivity by completing sidewalks along Woodland Avenue and Fields Drive to improve walkability and to connect residences to local businesses in the surrounding areas.

The project is part of the N.C. Department of Transportation's 2024-2033 State Transportation Improvement Program.

Project Areas

• Woodland Avenue between W. Globe Street and Evergreen Lane (approximately 1.3 miles)
• Fields Drive between Carthage Street and Horner Blvd (approximately 1 mile)

Funding
NCDOT will fund 80 percent of the cost of the project, with the City funding the remaining 20 percent.
