Terra-Turner Waterline Replacement Project Update for the Week of 5/06/2024

Main construction activity and items to watch for:

The Contractor will continue as shown on the map below.

*Work on S. Sheridan Ave. will include prepping the street for asphalt and cleanup. Asphalt is tentatively scheduled for the week of May 15th.

• Work on Terra Ave. will include pressure testing and backfilling on the south end and all along the street prepping/placing concrete. Users on the south end of the street, from Kane Funeral Home south, will switch from the temporary water system to the new waterline once it passes tests.
• Work on Riverside will include excavating and installing waterline on the west end, beginning at the intersection with Sheridan Ave. working east.
• There will also be work on concrete preparation and placement of parking areas and curb and gutter on Turner/Terra and Sheridan Ave.

Planned location of construction and road closures for week of 5/6:

• S. Sheridan Ave. is now open for local traffic.
• Terra Ave. – Main activity requiring road closure is on the south end. Should reopen by mid-week.
• Riverside - The street will be closed on the west end.

Access:

Terra Ave:

All business access should continue from the north. Hopefully the street will be opened mid-week.

Sheridan Ave:

Street is open to local through traffic. Asphalt preparation is in progress so unnecessary through-traffic should be discouraged. Access from Riverside will be closed.

Riverside:

        The west end of the street will be closed. Access should come from Coffeen Ave.  

Businesses that may experience a water shutoff – to be coordinated with separate notice.

Temporary switches to/from the temporary water system for businesses on the south end of Terra.

Other items of note to watch for:

Please try to limit parking on the streets.

Watch for the temporary water system when driving and the open pits.
