Red-cockaded Woodpecker Foraging Habitat Analysis
Environmental consultants from Dr. J.H. Carter III & Associates recently published an RCW foraging analysis and biological assessment for the carriage house renovation and easement road planned at Whitehall.
Work is underway at Whitehall at Reservoir Park on the Carriage House. The former garage building is being renovated into a multi-use event space with a gravel parking area accessible from Elizabeth Rounds Playground and the main house forming a one-way loop driveway. The study was conducted to assess the impact of renovations, road construction, and parking at Whitehall on the existing and future RCW habitats. Changes to the design were implemented following the study to ensure minimal disturbance in accordance with recommendations in the study.
