Proposed 20mph Speed Limit on Lonesome Lane & Surrounding Roads, Reigate

Proposal

As part of Surrey County Council's programme of speed management improvements, it is proposed to reduce the speed limit from 30mph to 20mph on the roads around Dovers Green Primary School, Reigate. We also propose to extend the 30mph limit on Lonesome Lane to the south by approximately 200 metres to create a 400-metre stretch of 30mph limit before the 20mph area.

The proposal is intended to improve road safety, particularly for children and other vulnerable road users, and to encourage lower vehicle speeds in the vicinity of Dovers Green Primary School and the surrounding residential area.

Public engagement on the proposal has already taken place. Following consideration of the feedback received, Surrey County Council has decided to progress the scheme to the Traffic Regulation Order (TRO) consultation stage. Traffic Regulation Order (TRO) Consultation
This is the formal legal stage of the process. During the consultation period, any person may submit a representation supporting or objecting to the proposal. All representations received before the consultation closes will be considered before a final decision is made.
