Proposed 20mph Speed Limit on Various Roads in Guildford (Onslow Area)

Proposed 20mph Speed Limit on Various Roads in Guildford (Onslow Area)

Proposal

As part of Surrey County Council's programme of speed management improvements, it is proposed to reduce the speed limit from 30mph to 20mph in Onslow Village and Guildford Park, Guildford. The proposal is intended to improve road safety, particularly for children and other vulnerable road users, and to encourage lower vehicle speeds in the vicinity of Meadowcroft Community Primary School and the surrounding residential area.

Public engagement on the proposal has already taken place. Following consideration of the feedback received, Surrey County Council has decided to progress the scheme to the Traffic Regulation Order (TRO) consultation stage. A summary of the engagement findings can be viewed in the Engagement Report below.

Traffic Regulation Order (TRO) Consultation

This is the formal legal stage of the process. During the consultation period, any person may submit a representation supporting or objecting to the proposal. All representations received before the consultation closes will be considered before a final decision is made in consultation with the county councillor.

The documents below provide further details, including:
• the Traffic Regulation Order (TRO) Notice;
• the Speed Limit Plan showing the affected roads;
• the Statement of Reasons explaining why the Order is being promoted; and
