Fountain Square Improvements to Highway

Proposal

Surrey County Council is proposing to make a public realm improvement scheme on Bank Buildings Road (Fountain Square) in Cranleigh. The overall scheme in Fountain Square is to create a pedestrian area on Saturdays Sundays & Bank Holidays, creating a more attractive and accessible space for residents and visitors to spend time in. This will include introducing more greenery (trees / planters), more seating and improve the footways in the area.

Due to the pedestrianisation, changes to allow access into Onslow Mews are required. Changes to be made include

Bank Buildings Road Pedestrianisation: Surrey County Council is proposing to restrict vehicles into Bank Building Road between 137 High Street and 111 High Street on Saturdays, Sundays & Bank Holidays from 9am to 4.30pm. Residents and businesses will be able to access Onslow Mews from the High Street (between 111 and 101).
Access into Onslow Mews for vehicles is to travel along Bank Buildings Road from the west.
