Home to School Policy Updates (Under 16 & Post-16)
Surrey County Council is seeking feedback from families, schools, transport operators, and the wider community on proposed changes to our Home to School policies for children and young people under 16 and post-16. Your views are vital to ensure our policies are fair, effective, and meet the needs of Surrey residents.
This consultation outlines the key proposed changes and invites your comments, concerns, and suggestions.
Why Your Views Matter
The purpose of this consultation is an opportunity for your voice to be heard and help us in shaping this policy. We are seeking feedback from young people, parents/carers, schools and other interested parties.
While the core elements of the Council's support policy for children & young people remain consistent, we are introducing procedural updates to ensure continued eligibility and effectiveness.

The consultation starts on Wednesday 21st January 2026 and runs for a period of 28 working days until midnight on Tuesday 17th February 2026.
