Ash and Tongham Enhancements

We will begin improvement works outside Ash Grange School from Monday 27 October, aiming to enhance safety for children, pedestrians, and public transport users. The work, which is expected to last around three weeks, includes the removal of the existing bus lay-by to widen the footpath, installation of a new bus shelter with real-time passenger information, and various landscaping and safety upgrades. Plans can be seen on the page 5 of the 'Ash bus stop Improvements'.

Improvements include:

  • Yellow pencil bollards to highlight the school zone

  • Timber bollards between school entrances

  • A modern bus shelter with lighting, seating, real time travel information and no smoking signage

  • Landscaping near Church View for potential tree planting and wildflowers

  • Upgraded pedestrian routes and steel loop railings

  • Repairs to grass verges and new timber markers

  • Addition of double yellow lines

Temporary two-way traffic lights will be in place between Ash Grange School and St Peter’s Church during the works. The work is weather dependant and can be delayed by bad weather or other factors. Please look at our information boards on site for date changes.

We thank you for your patience while we carry out these works and apologise for any inconvenience caused.
