We also appreciate the detailed comments submitted, which have helped inform our assessment.
Following a thorough review of all feedback received, and in consultation with the local county councillor, we have decided to proceed with introducing all the measures proposed.
While the public engagement has helped guide our initial decision-making, there is a statutory requirement to formally advertise the proposed introduction of the 20mph speed limit, 7.5 tonne weight limit, and traffic calming features. During this stage, residents and stakeholders will have a further opportunity to submit comments or objections. These will be considered in accordance with the county council's constitution before a final decision is made on whether to proceed with installing the measures.
We are now progressing with the detailed design and preparing to formally advertise the scheme. When the advertisement takes place, large signs and notices will be placed on site, directing residents to our website for more details and to share their views. Letters will also be sent to residents living in the local area.
Subject to the outcome of the statutory process, we are aiming to deliver the scheme before the end of March 2027.
