What is next

The public engagement exercise on the proposals to install 20mph speed limit and traffic calming in Church Road, Bookham closed on the 6^th January 2025. The results were summarised and discussed with the County Councillor for the area, Cllr Clare Curran.

After considering the results the County Councillor has decided to continue with the scheme. Detailed design and other work on the scheme is now being carried out, and the traffic regulation order (TRO), which is the legal document required to install traffic calming measures and to change the speed limit will be advertised in the coming months.

The works to construct the traffic calming measures and install the 20mph speed limit are programmed to be carried out by the end of the financial year.
