EY Funding Consultation 2027/28
Surrey County Council is committed to engaging with the Early Years Sector.
We would like to gain your views about the Early Years funding proposal for 2027/28. Please answer the questions in this survey below in relation to the delivery of Early Years Funded Entitlement in 2027/28. The full proposal paper is attached within the consultation page below for your information.
Surrey is currently progressing through Local Government Reorganisation (LGR), which will see the existing county and district/borough council structure replaced by two new unitary councils from 1st April 2027 - East and West Surrey and South Middlesex. These new councils will assume responsibility for all local authority services, including early years funding.
Although Surrey County Council remains responsible for early years funding arrangements at present, work is underway to support a smooth transition to the new unitary authorities. This includes considering how funding models, rates, and local priorities will operate beyond April 2027.
Your feedback through this survey will help inform proposals for early years funding rates for 2027/28 and ensure that the developing arrangements reflect the needs of providers across Surrey during and after this transition.
Please scroll down and complete the consultation questions.
Our consultation is open until Tuesday 29th September.
