The initial 6-month public feedback and statutory objection window for the Experimental Traffic Regulation Order (ETRO) for Danetree School Street is coming to an end.
Under the legal framework of an ETRO, the first six months serve as the formal consultation period. The deadline to submit your feedback, comments or formal objections is 11th November 2026.
Have your say
Your lived experience as a resident is vital to this evaluation. Please share your views before the deadline by:
- Online Survey: Visit our consultation page at: https://danetree-school-street.commonplace.is
- Write to: Traffic Regulations Orders Team, Hazel House, Merrow Lane, Guildford, Surrey, GU4 7BQ
What happens next?
- The School Street restrictions remain in place: The entry restrictions and cameras will remain fully operational. Non-exempt vehicles entering during restricted times will continue to be subject to a Penalty Charge Notice (PCN).
- Your Exemption remains valid: If you hold a resident or business vehicle exemption permit, you can continue to use the street as normal. Please ensure your vehicle registrations are up to date on our portal.
- Review and decision period: Our traffic management team will now evaluate all monitoring data collected over the last 6 months, including traffic counts on surrounding streets, air quality measurements, and all submitted resident feedback.
A final decision on whether to make the scheme permanent, amend its design, or remove it entirely will be made by Surrey County Council Officers in consultation with your County Councillor before the full 18-month experimental order expires.
Warning Letters
The six-month warning letter period for the School Street restrictions will also end on 11th November. After this date warning letters will no longer be issued and any vehicle entering the School Street during 8am- 9am and 2.30-3.45pm without a valid exemption will receive a Penalty Notice of £70 (£35 if paid within 21 days)
If you have not applied for a resident exemption for each vehicle that is registered to your address, please do so before 11th November 2026 via the online portal here: https://surrey.nsl-apply.co.uk
Yours faithfully,
The School Street Team
