Residential roads off Vicarage Road

Roads in this area include: Tinsey Close, Manor Leaze, Vicarage Avenue, Mead Close, College Avenue and Vicarage Court.

Design proposals in this area include (please see the PDF file linked below for a plan of all the proposals):

• Improvements at the side road junctions of Vicarage Road including providing dropped kerbs and tactile paving where currently absent. This makes it safer and easier for users to cross the road, especially those with reduced mobility, visual impairments, or with a pushchair.
• At some of the side road junctions it is also proposed to tighten the bell mouth of the junction by building out the footways and grass verges. This will reduce the crossing distance for pedestrians and also slow down vehicles travelling through the junction. The installation of double yellow lines is proposed at some of the junctions (junctions with Vicarage Avenue, Mead Close and Vicarage Court) to restrict parking on the junctions. 
• Tree planting is proposed on the existing verge in Mead Close. Please see the trees, planting and sustainable drainage tile for more information about tree planting.
