Compton Village

Feedback following our Coffee & Chat event

Thank you to everyone who attended our event in March and provided comments on the map. We have taken the time to review all responses and have included results from your feedback below.

We have already taken steps to help reduce speeds in the village and following conversations with the Speed Management and Camera Enforcement Team and Surrey Police, a speed van will occasionally be stationed outside the village hall in Compton.

The next steps

Comments from the engagement in March will be used to brief designers when creating design options for plans. These plans, which will include two to three options, will then be presented at a public consultation in Compton for further feedback.

Funding

In March, the Cabinet approved the Compton Village scheme with funds of £400,000 allocated to the project, seen in SIP Cabinet report 2024. Funds will be spent once an agreed scheme is approved at business case following consultations with residents and approval from the councillor.

Your feedback is very important to us and will form the decision-making process moving forward. While we may not be able to tackle everything you highlighted, we will review and consider all your feedback when developing a proposal for the village.
