You Said, We Did - Changes to the proposals compared to engagement stage 2

Following the second stage of engagement, the plans were reviewed, changed where applicable and developed in more detail, taking into account the feedback we received for local stakeholders as well as further survey work. This has included removing some proposals where they received particularly low support or significant opposition overall. 

The key issues raised by respondents by area were:

Following feedback from the second round of engagement, proposals have been updated to make the streets in this area safer, healthier and more attractive with appropriate vehicle speed limits and improved facilities for walking, wheeling and cycling. The list below shows key changes for each area.

Updated proposals for Area 1 - which covers the streets surrounding Bridge Street.

• New raised tables and tactile crossings at Bridge Street junctions.
• Wayfinding signs to Thames Path and River Walk.
• Bollards to prevent footway over-running.
• Resurfaced footways and widened pedestrian areas.

Updated Proposals for Area 2 – Manor Road and Surrounding Roads

• Raised tables and tactile crossings at Manor Road / Hillrise and Dudley Road junctions.
• Relocated lamp columns and introduction of planters/greening.
• Improved junction visibility and reduced on-street parking close to corners.
• Full resurfacing and kerb realignments to aid accessibility and drainage.

Updated Proposals for Area 3 – Felix Road and Franklyn Road

• Verge conversions to sustainable drainage (SuDS) features.
• Added tree pits, planters, and pedestrian buildouts.
• Wayfinding signage to the Thames River Path.
