We also appreciate the detailed comments that were submitted.

Following a thorough review of all feedback received, and in consultation with the local county councillor, we have decided to proceed with introducing the virtual footway.

However, we will not be including the Wand Orkas (flexible bollards set within rubber kerbing) that formed part of the original proposal.  This decision has been made due to concerns raised in the road safety audit of the scheme, as well as similar concerns highlighted in a number of engagement responses.  Instead, the virtual footway will be defined using buff coloured surfacing.

We are now moving forward with the remaining elements works that need to be completed to the enable the scheme to be delivered, and we currently anticipate the virtual footway being installed before the end of March 2027.
