A Minerals and Waste Local Plan for Surrey
Surrey County Council is commencing preparation of a new Minerals and Waste Local Plan for Surrey, which will provide an up-to-date minerals and waste planning framework for the period 2029-2044.
After 1 April 2027, responsibility for preparing and adopting the new plan will pass to East Surrey Council and West Surrey Council.
Surrey County Council previously began preparing an old-style Minerals and Waste Local Plan in November 2021. New Government requirements mean that we must start plan preparation again under the new plan-making system.
