Project Description: This project includes a Citywide Water Service Meter Replacement Project. The existing water metering system will be replaced with a Fixed Network Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) System with built-in acoustic leak detection (ALD) capabilities. The AMI system will be a state-of-the-art, userfriendly system, and includes features and tools that will simplify daily operations and provide real time alarms to enhance service to the City’s customers. Additionally, the system will help achieve the maximum revenue potential, in terms of measurement accuracy and provide the means to reduce non-revenue water losses with the built-in ALD capabilities.
Status: This project was approved at the January 22, 2025, commission meeting. Coordination with City staff and material procurement will take place over the next several weeks, with the contract work tentatively scheduled to begin in March 2025.
