East Side Water Distribution System Expansion

East Side Water Distribution System Expansion

Estimated Cost: $14,000,000.00

Estimated Start Date: Summer 2025

Estimated Completion Date: Fall 2027

Project Description: This project focuses on expanding the City’s water distribution system to the Tamarac Residents located east of NW 31st Avenue. Currently, the City's water system is split into two parts: Tamarac Utility West (TUW), covering the western part to State Road 7, and Tamarac Utility East (TUE), spanning from NW 31st Avenue to Prospect Road and NW 15th Avenue. TUW receives water from the City of Tamarac, whereas TUE's water comes from Fort Lauderdale as a bulk purchase. The goal is to connect TUE to the City's western water system, improving water quality and cost management. This will allow the City to fully control water supply to all residents and businesses.

Status: Staff are reviewing the 90% design plan submittals. Once the design, technical specifications, and permitting are complete, the project will be advertised for bids through the City’s competitive bidding process. The bidding process is tentatively scheduled for Spring 2025.
