Empedrado St Water Main Improvements

Approximately 2,500 linear feet of aging water mains will be replaced and upgraded as part of the Empedrado Street Project. Construction will be performed by the Tampa Water Department’s Engineering Construction Team, with roadway paving support provided by a contractor. The project is expected to conclude by December 2026.

The Empedrado Street Project will strengthen the City of Tampa’s water distribution system by replacing existing water mains and increasing overall system capacity. Aging infrastructure in the area will be upgraded with new, larger-diameter mains to enhance water pressure, improve water quality, and reduce service interruptions caused by leaks or main breaks. These improvements will also support the City’s ability to meet the needs of a growing population.

Project Location

The Empedrado Street Project will replace water main pipes in the city's right-of-way located on West Empedrado Street, between South Himes Avenue and South Esperanza Avenue.
