Exploring a new name

North Gloucestershire Borough Council. What do you think?

Update: Due to restrictions placed on us in the run-up to the parliamentary election, we have been unable to promote this consultation as much as we would have liked.

As a result, we are extending the feedback period, and the consultation will now run until Wednesday, 31 July.

This might be our new name and we want to share with you why we want to make this change. Most importantly, we want to hear from residents, businesses and local organisations on whether you think there are any benefits or issues we haven’t considered.

From 17 May to 31 July 2024, we invite you to find out more about why the council is minded to do this and tell us:

❓ Have we missed any benefits for you? Tell us if there are additional advantages we haven’t considered.
❓ Are there any unaddressed concerns? Let us know if there are any issues you think we’ve overlooked.
❓ Which logo do you prefer? Review our new designs that have been created in-house.

Please read through our consultation document and give us your feedback.

"Recent feedback from our communities shows people feel the name ‘Tewkesbury Borough’ isn’t considered representative of our area. We want our name to be as inclusive as possible. We believe a new name has the potential to raise the profile of our entire borough, help us to attract new jobs and investment, and better reflect our important location in the country."
Cllr Richard Stanley
Leader of the Council
