Proposed changes to taxi and private hire policy

Tewkesbury Borough Council is proposing to make some minor changes to its taxi and private hire vehicle licensing policy and conditions. The changes being proposed relate to:

• The minimum seat width requirements for licensed vehicles
• The requirement to carry a fire extinguisher in a licensed vehicle

Before making a decision about whether to proceed with the proposed changes, the Council is keen to hear from relevant stakeholders, including those that it licences to use one or more vehicles as a taxi or private hire vehicle, and those licensed to drive or operate taxi or private hire vehicles.
