The City of Torrance is seeking community input on objective development standards for properties within the Single-Family Residential (R-1) and Hillside and Coastal Overlay (R-H) Zones.
This was created in response to City Council direction provided during the May 19, 2026 public workshop on the Hillside Overlay Zone. As discussed during the workshop, the existing development standards of the Hillside and Coastal Overlay Zone remain an important consideration as part of this effort.
Comments submitted will help City staff evaluate potential objective development standards and related processes for future City Council discussions and consideration.
