The City of Lorain is undertaking the Roadway Rehabilitation of Longbrook Rd. from Kolbe Rd. to the intersection with Yorktown Rd. and Yorktown Rd. from the intersection with Longbrook Rd. to the intersection with Oak Point Rd. The intention of this project is to improve the drainage and replace the asphalt pavement on Longbrook Road, and remove and replace the concrete pavement on Yorktown Rd.
This project will be undertaken in four phases; Phase One will entail the removal and replacement of the southside lane of Yorktown, with one-way eastbound traffic being maintained in the northside lane, lasting approximately 30 days. Phase Two will entail the removal and replacement of the northside lane of Yorktown, with one-way eastbound traffic being maintained in the southside lanes, lasting approximately 30 days. Phase Three will entail the full closure of Longbrook Rd. from the intersection with Kolbe Rd. to the bridge over Beaver Creek, this will entail approximately 2-3 weeks. Phase 4 will include installation of new signage and updated pavement markings.
During both Phase One and Phase Two, the temporary one-way traffic on Yorktown Rd. will be maintained in the eastbound direction, in order to limit the impact of emergency vehicles heading to Mercy Health - Lorain Hospital.
