Oakwood Park – South Lorain Library Trail: A New Community Connection

The City of Lorain has secured $277,139 in funding through NOACA’s 2025 TLCI program to build the Oakwood Park – South Lorain Library Trail. This 11-foot-wide multi-use path will create a safe and direct connection between Oakwood Park and the South Lorain Library.

The new trail will run from East 37th Street near the library, cross East 36th Street with an ADA-compliant crossing and RRFB, and continue into Oakwood Park. This project will provide safe, walkable access for residents, especially children and families, while supporting healthier, more connected neighborhoods.

By linking two key community spaces, this project promotes equity, safety, and access for all. Construction is scheduled for 2028, with design and planning now underway.
