CAB Bylaws Input

As the role of Citizens Advisory Boards (CABs) has evolved into primarily serving as community forums, with neighborhood development discussions occurring through a separate process, Washoe County staff, in collaboration with the District Attorney’s Office, is updating the CAB Bylaws. These updates ensure consistency, legal compliance, and alignment with best practices.

Both the CAB Handbook and CAB Bylaws serve as a guide on how CABs operate and how members engage with their communities. While this is an administrative update, we value your input on the CAB Bylaws as community members who participate in and attend CAB meetings.

Community members are invited to review the existing documents and share feedback online through February 2026.

Feedback may focus on:

  • The clarity and usability of the documents, and
  • Suggestions for areas that may need additional explanation.

Please note that legal requirements such as Nevada Open Meeting Law provisions or CAB membership composition cannot be changed through this process.

Printed copies will be made available for review at CAB meetings upon request. If you or someone you know would like to provide written feedback but does not have internet access, please dial 3-1-1 for assistance.
