6th Street and Cummins Way Traffic Safety Project
The City of West Sacramento is committed to creating safer streets and improving quality of life for our residents through thoughtful planning and collaboration. In response to neighborhood concerns, the City has prioritized the 6th Street and Cummins Way intersection for a targeted traffic safety initiative. Initial traffic calming measures, including the installation of stop signs, advanced warning signs, and roadway striping in 2022, have already laid the groundwork. However, we recognize the need for a more comprehensive strategy to address persistent safety challenges and enhance mobility in the area.
As part of this initiative, the City is conducting a detailed feasibility study to evaluate the intersection and identify long-term solutions for improved safety and traffic flow. This process includes technical assessments, public outreach, and the development of preliminary design plans. Community input will be a cornerstone of this effort, ensuring that the voices of residents directly inform the strategies we adopt. Together, we aim to create a safer and more accessible neighborhood for everyone who lives, works, and travels through this corridor.
