In an effort to enhance the health insurance offerings provided, the Town, through the Town Manager’s office, is conducting a comprehensive review of healthcare preferences and priorities. By gathering input directly from all employees, we aim to ensure that our solutions align with the diverse needs of our team while upholding our commitment to fiscal responsibility. Your insights will play a critical role in shaping the strategies we adopt moving forward, helping us refine options and make effective improvements. As part of this initiative, we are evaluating the cost-effectiveness of Westford’s partially self-insured health insurance model. Based upon plan management and several successes in reducing expenses, our overall costs have exceeded projections over the past two years. By identifying opportunities for smarter resource allocation and incentivizing lower-cost care options, we can better serve our employees and retirees while maintaining the financial health of the Trust.
