Community drop-ins 2024
Targeted community outreach with lesser heard groups to empower them to make an application to deliver a community greening project.
Greening Westminster
Community Outreach Drop in sessions 2024
February 2024 was the first year we conducted community outreach drop-in sessions specifically with lesser heard groups i.e. elderly, parents of young children, ethnic minority groups etc at their spaces to encourage participation in applying for the grant. The purpose of this was to empower community groups to deliver greening projects across Westminster that are inclusive and accessible for all.
This was a new strategy put into place to help broaden the reach amongst communities and raise awareness about the grant funding opportunity.
We endeavour to continue to enable inclusivity and diversity in our programme to empower lesser heard communities to contribute in improving the green infrastructure in Westminster.
We have engaged with the following groups till date.
- Pimlico Library
- Queen's Park Bangladeshi Association
- Acorn's Early Years Playgroup at Westbourne Park Family Centre
- Morning Coffee session at Queen's Park Library
- Greener Futures event
