Wayfinding Signs Project - Physical Activity and Play

Thank you to everyone who took part in the "Know Ball Games Pilot" consultation on the proposal to replace existing ‘no ball games’ signs across selected housing estates.

The consultation is now complete and we are pleased to share that the project is moving into the next stage.

ActiveWestminster is working alongside the Housing Department to introduce new wayfinding signs across a number of estates. These new signs will replace existing ‘no ball games’ signage where appropriate.

The aim of the project is to make it easier for children, young people and families to find and access local spaces where they can safely play, be active and spend time outdoors. The new signs will use clear estate maps to guide residents towards designated play and activity areas.

These maps will highlight key facilities within each estate, including Multi Use Games Areas (MUGAs), outdoor gyms and other suitable play and recreational spaces.

ActiveWestminster is currently finalising the design of the new signage. Once complete, the project will move into installation across the following locations:

  • John Aird Court
  • Mozart
  • Brunel
  • Lydford
  • Lisson Green
  • Churchill Gardens
  • Lillington & Longmore

Once the design, programme plan and schedule are finalised, we will update registered residents with the next steps and implementation timings of the signs, as well as offering engagement opportunities to residents post implementation.

If you have any questions about the project, please do reach out.

Kind regards,
ActiveWestminster & Housing Team
