You Said, We Did

Following the adoption of The City Plan 2019-2040 in 2021, the council committed to developing an updated Public Realm Guidance Supplementary Planning Document (SPD) for Westminster. This new SPD intends to replace the outdated 2011 ‘Westminster Way’ Supplementary Planning Document (SPD), and other Supplementary Planning Guidance (SPGs) related to Westminster’s public realm. 

A Consultation Statement has been prepared in line with Regulation 12 of the Town and Country Planning (Local Planning) (England) Regulations 2012. This document provides a summary of all public engagement—both non-statutory and statutory—undertaken during the preparation of the Public Realm Guidance SPD, including its two appendices: the Materials Palette and the Inclusive Design Guidance. 

It outlines who was consulted, highlights the key issues raised, and explains how feedback has shaped the final adopted version of the SPD and its supporting documents. Once adopted, the consultation statement will be published below.
