Evidence Collection

June 2023 - December 2023
WCC and our consultants Inner Circle collaborated with dozens of infrastructure providers, including teams within the council and external organisations. These stakeholders provided details of all infrastructure projects planned to be delivered over the next few decades.

Document drafting

January 2024 - August 2024
An initial draft version from the consultants was reviewed and revised by WCC

Internal Review

August 2024 - October 2024
Draft versions reviewed by WCC teams to produce a final draft for public consultation

Public consultation

November 2024 - January 2025
Public consultation invites anyone with an interest in Westminster - including residents, workers, and visitors - to provide feedback on how the IDP can be clearer and more engaging. We are also reaching out to local stakeholders who produce non-statutory plans for Westminster. If you provide infrastructure within Westminster but have not previously provided details of your planned projects, please contact us on IDPconsultation@westminster.gov.uk.

Public consultation response

January 2025 - February 2025
We will consider every response and think about how the IDP can be improved. WCC will publish a Consultation Statement: this will list every comment from all of the submissions and set out how the final IDP will be amended to address the comment (or alternatively explain why no amendment will be made).

Adopt IDP

Spring/Summer 2025
The final version of the IDP will be formally adopted and published on the council's website.

Implement IDP

Summer 2025
The IDP will be used to inform infrastructure planning and funding decisions. The IDP will be a 'live' document which can be updated as needed each year to reflect new or updates to projects, and changes to policy and context.
