About the project

Email

It is possible that the works date may slip for operational reasons such as weather delays between now and the planned start date but the methodology of carrying out the work is not expected to change. Should there be a change to the methodology or significant change to the programme, we shall inform you at the earliest opportunity. Pedestrian access to properties will be maintained at all times.

The basement/vault to your property is a separate structure from the public highway and keeping it in a watertight condition is the responsibility of the owner or freeholder. If the vault/basement has not been properly damp proofed and/or tanked it is not secure from water ingress. Please be advised that neither the Service Provider or the City Council will be responsible for any damage resulting from water ingress in such circumstances.

We do apologise in advance for any inconvenience that these works may cause, we shall endeavour to keep noise disruptions to a minimum.

Should you require further information, or any reasonable adjustment, please do not hesitate to contact Robert Burton, the public liaison officer for this scheme. He can be reached on 07760 962103 or by email at robert.burton@fmconway.co.uk.

F.M. Conway Ltd have been commissioned on behalf of Westminster City Council to undertake public realm improvement works on Eccleston Street. The works will commence on 11th June 2026 for an estimated 6-month programme.

The works include footway and carriageway re-construction along the extents of Eccleston Street between Buckingham Palace Road and Ebury Street, including sections on Ebury Street and Eccleston Place. The construction works will be delivered in phases to maintain accessibility along the entire length of the road throughout the duration of the project. Approximate phasing is detailed below:

  • Phase 1 (Jun) – Eccleston Street southern footway (Buckingham Palace Road – Eccleston Place)
  • Phase 2 (Jun – July) – Eccleston Street northern footway (Buckingham Palace Road – Eccleston Place)
  • Phase 3 (July – Sept) – Eccleston Street southern footway (Eccleston Place – Ebury Street)
  • Phase 4 (Sept – Nov) – Eccleston Street northern footway (Eccleston Place – Ebury Street)
  • Phase 5 (Nov – Dec) – Eccleston Street/Eccleston Place Junction (Road Closure)
  • Phase 6 (Dec/Jan TBC) – Eccleston Street Resurfacing

In order to undertake the works safely, the closure of Eccleston Street/Eccleston Place will be required during Phase 5. Appropriate diversion routes will be marked on site.
