What is a Play Street?
Find out how Westminster are creating improved access for spaces to play, meet your neighbours and increase physical activity.
Northumberland Place Play Street
What is a Play Street?
Where a street can become a playground under Section 29, Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 which will provide priority over traffic to children and families to play in streets at specified times.
This is our thinking so far for the Active Streets Programme to open up residential streets across Westminster for:
- free play
- creating space for physical activity right on your doorstep and
- increasing the number of people who know their neighbours
