Westminster Street Trading and Markets Consultation 2026

Open: 6 July-30 September 2026 | Online or by email

This consultation will help shape how street trading and markets operate across Westminster.

Westminster City Council is consulting on a coordinated package of draft proposals for how street trading and markets are licensed, managed, charged and supported across the city.

The consultation covers Westminster’s six council-managed markets, isolated pitches, exhibitions, portrait artists, approved casual trading, temporary and event trading, and other specialist street trading activity.

The aim is to create a clearer, more place-led and actively managed street trading service: clearer places, clearer rules, clearer fees, clearer support and stronger delivery.

Street trading and markets shape how Westminster’s streets look and feel. Your feedback will help us decide how they operate in the future.
