Allotment Proposal Consultation

Westminster City Council's Sport, Leisure and Active Communities Team are seeking to transform the underused bowling green at Paddington Recreation Ground into a community allotment garden.

The goal is to create a space that benefits everyone by promoting healthy living, learning, and sustainability.

Thank you to everyone who took the time from their busy lives to respond online, turn up in person to the 1-2-1’s or write in regarding this project. 95% of all respondents either hyperlocal to the site (6%) or Westminster residents (89%). The results were extremely interesting and incredibly close between support and concerns for the project.

Overview

We're planning to transform the underused bowling green at Paddington Recreation Ground into a community allotment garden. This garden will be a place where local residents, schools, care homes, and community groups can grow fruits, vegetables, and plants. The goal is to create a space that benefits everyone by promoting healthy living, learning, and sustainability.

We want to involve as many local residents as possible in the planning of the allotments. We will hold drop-in sessions, share updates online and ask for your ideas and feedback through surveys. This will help us create a space that everyone can enjoy and be proud of.

How to Get Involved

The Survey has now Closed and the drop in sessions have now ended.

The team are now busy analysing all the comments and input from residents, users, care homes and schools, before making a decision on the next steps.

Thank you to everyone who commented or attended in person, and helped us provide an FAQ's list (see above) where many of the questions raised, have been answered.
