Warwick Way Town Centre Highways Scheme
Construction on Warwick Way has started and is expected to continue until October 2025.
Works so far:
Works on Warwick Way (Phase 1) began as planned on Monday 6th January and Warwick Way is currently closed between Upper Tachbrook Street and Wilton Road. Initial works have focused on excavating for the deep drainage connections for the new gullies to ensure surface water is removed form the highway as efficiently as possible during wet weather. Three separate deep connections to the sewer are planned on Warwick Way, all within Phase 1 of the works. The excavation for the first connection, outside the Queen's Arms pub, has reached the sewer and the next step will be to connect and lay the new pipework.

Forward look:
Next week, the first connection with be completed and backfilled before excavating for the second connection outside Tesco and Waitrose. Construction of the widened footways will also commence with works starting on the north side of Warwick Way. Once the plant and materials have been delivered to site, the new kerb lines will be installed and then the footways paved for the widened sections. Pedestrians will continue to use the existing footways while this is happening.
