Westway Canalside Public Art Mural

Westminster City Council are commisioning a creative practitioner to co-design and co-deliver an inspiring public art mural on the Network Rail boundary under the Westway, alongside the Grand Union Canal towpath in W2/W9. The mural aims to enhance the canal towpath and will help to celebrate and define the character of this place for years to come. The work should help support increased community cohesion and local pride.
The approximate wall length is circa 120m. The painted wall mural is anticipated to cover both the entire length and height of the wall. This is to ensure maximum visual impact of the commission.
The deadline for mural artist tender submissions closed in March 2025. Once the successful artist is appointed, the Council will announce the outcome and the planned delivery schedule for the mural later in 2025.
