Knightsbridge Green Proposals

Westminster City Council plans to regenerate Knightsbridge Green to enhance pedestrian access to shops and businesses on Knightsbridge Green and sections of Brompton Road and Raphael Street.

By increasing pedestrian access and reducing traffic, the proposals aim to create a more attractive, safer and accessible environment for all users. The proposals include:

  • Pedestrianising the north-eastern branch of Knightsbridge Green (outside Adamo) to prioritise pedestrians.
  • Adding street furniture, including cycle stands and benches for rest areas.
  • Upgrading paving with high-quality materials to create a more attractive streetscape.
  • Upgrading lighting to improve safety and visibility.
  • Introducing a one-way system on Knightsbridge Green Road to ease congestion and better manage idling vehicles.
  • Relocating three parking bays from the northeastern arm of Knightsbridge Green to the western arm of Knightsbridge Green to reduce pedestrian obstruction.
  • Relocating the taxi rank from the western arm of Knightsbridge Green to Brompton Road for better access from Brompton Road.
  • Incorporating Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS) to manage surface water and reduce flood risk.

The proposal plan below shows all the proposed changes to Knightsbridge Green, alongside the existing plan.
