Following consultation on Northumberland Place Play Street in December 2023, the Full Report and Findings is now available. 

The impact of opening up streets for children to play and for the community to get together has been shown to build a higher sense of trust and belonging, allowing people of all ages and walks of life to connect with each other and lead active, healthy and happy lives. For these reason a decision has been made to implement Option 1 Play Street. For reference, you can check what Option 1 and Option 2.

These proposals build on the temporary play streets scheme that was introduced in 2019 on a temporary basis and previously consulted with stakeholders. 

The next steps of the project are to finalise the design which will determine timelines to complete the project. The project team anticipate that the Play Street will be operational from April 2025.
