About the project

In July 2024, Westminster City Council launched the Paddington Green and Little Venice Canalside Public Realm Improvements project with the ambition of creating safer, more accessible, and greener public spaces. Throughout September and October 2024 we carried out initial community engagement to understand your experiences and aspirations for the spaces, as well as your concerns about any changes. We listened to your views and translated this feedback into key objectives, which informed a series of design ideas.

In spring 2025, we showcased those ideas through a public exhibition and invited feedback via an online survey. Thank you to everyone who took part and shared their views.

Following engagement, three projects became clear priorities: the design and delivery of St Mary’s Inclusive Playground, developing Stone Wharf to support new uses such as outdoor learning, and commissioning artwork to enhance the Canalside bridges alongside other repairs.

Thank you once again for helping to shape the future of these local spaces. We’ll continue to share updates as the designs move forward.
