Thinking Padel
What is Padel? Padel is the world's fastest growing sport. It is a social racquet sport that is often described as a mix between tennis and squash. Predominantly played as doubles, padel is suitable for anyone to play and it’s easy to learn the basic skills. Played on an enclosed court about a third the size of a tennis court, groups of mixed ages and abilities can play together.
About the project
Padel: A Fast-Growing Sport
Padel is an exciting racquet sport, blending tennis and squash, played on a smaller court with walls that are part of the game. It’s easy to learn, social, and fast-paced, making it popular for all ages and skill levels.
Originating in Mexico in 1969, padel has grown rapidly in Spain, Argentina, and now worldwide, becoming one of the fastest-growing sports today.
We want to hear from residents, visitors and stakeholders to understand their views and interest in padel, helping us shape opportunities for participation and community engagement.
