Warwick Way Town Centre Highways Scheme

Phase 1 Warwick Way (between Upper Tachbrook Street and Wilton Road)

Works are complete for Phase 1 with the exception of the installation of setts and chamfered to the loading bay outside Tesco.  A temporary asphalt construction has been installed in this location to mitigate delays to materials.  Installation of the permanent materials will align with the resurfacing of Warwick Way in October.  Warwick Way has been made one-way westbound between its junctions with Upper Tachbrook Street and Belgrave Road with temporary road markings installed to inform road users.

Phase 2 Denbigh Street

The works on Denbigh Street are now complete with the exception of the permanent resin bound finish to the tree pit which will be completed in the coming weeks.

Phase 3 Wilton Road

The traffic signals at the junction have now been installed and commissioned by TfL.

Phase 4 Warwick Way (between Wilton Road and Guildhouse Street)

The footway widening works for Phase 4 are complete.

Phase 5 Warwick Way (between Guildhouse Street and Belgrave Road)

The footway works at the Belgrave Road junction have been completed and the junction with Belgrave Road has been reopened as of Wednesday 3rd September.  The permanent traffic signals were commissioned by TfL on 23rd September.

The junction with Guildhouse Street will remain closed while this section is completed.

Phase 6 Upper Tachbrook Street (between Longmoore Street and Warwick Way)

Following the emergency works outside Waitrose, works on Upper Tachbrook Street started on 16th September.  The road will remain open during the works under southbound one-way operation as per the finished scheme.

Resurfacing of the Carriageway

Resurfacing of Warwick Way and Upper Tachbrook Street is scheduled for 14th to 16th October and will be carried out under a full closure of those roads over 3 days.  A letter will be sent out to businesses and residents to communicate the arrangements.  In the week before the resurfacing, the loading bay outside Tesco will be completed.

Phase 1 Churton Street (between Tachbrook Street and Charlwood Place)

Works on Churton Street started on 20th August.  On the west side, footways and parking bays have been constructed from outside Lord City Express to the Constitution pub.  On the east side, excavation for the new widened footways/ raised parking bays has progressed with sections of kerbs and setts being laid.  The deep drainage connection at Charlwood Place has been completed and reinstated.  Work will progress to the east side over the coming week.
