Essendine Road

The Essendine Road scheme seeks your views on a series of proposed improvements designed to make it safer, greener, and more accessible. The scheme includes resurfacing the carriageway and repaving footways to remove trip hazards, while widening the pavement to create space for a new informal pedestrian crossing.

At Wymering Road, crossing will be upgraded with tactile paving to support visually impaired pedestrians. Sustainable features such as permeable block paving, rain gardens, and new planted beds will help manage surface water, reduce flooding, and add greenery and biodiversity.

The existing mature street trees will be preserved, maintaining local character and improving air quality.

The consultation will run from 5th to 19th January 2026.
