About the project
The Code of Constriction Practice
Westminster’s Code of Construction Practice (CoCP) sets out the framework that developers must follow to manage and reduce their impact on the environment, as well as on the highway and footway network, during construction and demolition activities.
By minimising these impacts, we can help our communities live healthier lives in a cleaner environment while supporting local economic and social growth.
Although the CoCP is a long-established document, new policy priorities including the Council’s Climate Emergency declaration and the publication of a new Air Quality Action Plan mean it’s time for a review. We want to ensure the CoCP continues to support Westminster’s ambitions to reach net zero and meet World Health Organization (WHO) air quality targets for fine particulate matter (PM2.5).
We’re reviewing several key areas where the current CoCP can be strengthened, and we’d like your feedback. Whether you’re a resident, visitor, business owner, local group, or construction company operating in Westminster, your views are important in shaping the updated Code.
Join us in helping to reduce the environmental and transport impacts of construction across Westminster.
