The SPD is nearing Adoption!

A Cabinet Member Report for the adoption of 'Westminster’s Streets and Spaces - Public Realm Guidance Supplementary Planning Document' has now been published. A copy of the report and appendices is available online here.

Adoption of the guidance is scheduled for 16th August 2025, following the closure of the call-in period.

Once adopted, the SPD will become a material consideration in the determination of planning applications. It will support applicants in understanding how City Plan policies are applied, helping them to prepare successful proposals. Additionally, anyone involved in or responsible for managing public spaces in Westminster can refer to the document for insight into the council’s best practice and overall approach to public realm schemes.
