Porchester Square Playground Improvement Consultation
This project aims to improve the current playground to provide a high quality mix of exciting new play equipment which is inclusive and accessible.
We will also add a nature garden which should support biodiversity and add interest to the park.
We invited parents, carers, children, local residents and stakeholders to learn more about the project and share their views. The consultation was open between December 2025 - January 2026.
81.5% of people supported upgrading the playground.
79.7% said that the playground being inclusive and accessible would encourage them to visit the playground.
84.5% supported the idea of adding a nature garden at the eastern end and adjusting playground fencing layout.
We have used what the community told us during the consultation to work with a playground company to create the new design. You can now view the new design in the 'You Said We Did' consultation report available on this website.
Construction of the playground is scheduled to begin on Monday 28 September and are estimated to take approximately 10 weeks, subject to weather and site conditions or unforeseen circumstances. The playground will be closed while works are taking place. The works will only take place from Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm.
