Warwick Way Town Centre Highways Scheme

Phase 1 Warwick Way (between Upper Tachbrook Street and Wilton Road)

Works are complete for Phase 1 with the exception of the installation of setts and chamfered to the loading bay outside Tesco.  A temporary asphalt construction has been installed in this location to mitigate delays to materials.  Installation of the permanent materials will align with the resurfacing of Warwick Way in October.  Warwick Way has been made one-way westbound between its junctions with Upper Tachbrook Street and Belgrave Road with temporary road markings installed to inform road users.

Phase 2 Denbigh Street

The works on Denbigh Street are now complete with the exception of the permanent resin bound finish to the tree pit which will be completed in the coming weeks.

Phase 3 Wilton Road

The traffic signals at the junction have now been installed and commissioned by TfL.

Phase 4 Warwick Way (between Wilton Road and Guildhouse Street)

The footway widening works for Phase 4 are complete.

Phase 5 Warwick Way (between Guildhouse Street and Belgrave Road)

The footway widening works at the Belgrave Road junction are currently in progress, alongside the installation of the permanent traffic signals by TfL. These works are scheduled for completion by the end of next week, at which point Warwick Way will be reopened to traffic again.

Works at Guildhouse Street will continue and the junction with Warwick Way will remain closed for the time being.

Phase 6 Upper Tachbrook Street (between Longmoore Street and Warwick Way)

Due to the emergency works on Warwick Way outside Waitrose, the diversion for this phase and the surrounding local network are impacted. As a result, we will need to delay the planned start date. We anticipate this will be a minimal delay and still aim to commence w/c 18th August. However, this is subject to the completion of the emergency works and the time required to implement the necessary changes to the temporary traffic arrangement.

Phase 1 Churton Street (between Tachbrook Street and Charlwood Place)

The emergency works mentioned above also have an impact on the diversion for this phase, resulting in a delay to the start date. We similarly anticipate a minimal delay and continue to aim to commence w/c 18th August. This remains dependent on the completion of emergency works and the time required to implement the necessary changes to temporary traffic arrangement.
