Proposed changes to our busking and street entertainment licensing.
About the project
Westminster City Council acknowledges the cultural value of busking and street entertainment in the city but aims to regulate performances to prevent obstruction of the highway and minimise disturbance to residents and businesses. In April 2021, the council introduced a licensing regime focusing on designated locations and a light-touch approach. Following a review, the council proposes revisions to the licensing policy, standard conditions, and code of conduct. The public is invited to provide feedback through a consultation process, with the closing date for responses set for 14 April 2024.
